Enjoy with us a visit to some of the most important museums in Lima !!! Our tour begins with the visit of the Museum Larco Herrera, which has on display remains that show the world of the ancient Peruvians from around 3000 years ago. Among the most spectaculars remains, we will see the great collection of Ancient Erotic Art, that is, without doubt one of the best attractions in the city of Lima. In addition to this great erotic collection, visitors also can see galleries with pieces of gold and silver. Unlike other museums, this place is the only one that has over 45.000 archaeological pieces properly classified. Our second visit takes place at the Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and history of Peru. This is the oldest museum in Peru, and has on display a vast and varied cultural heritage. Its galleries houses a great array of ceramics, textiles, metal works, organic material and mummy bundles, spanning the entire history of human occupation in Peru. Some of the most important legacies at the museum are the monoliths, where standout the famous Estela of Raimondi, a perfect carved block of stone, representing an ancient god bearing a walking stick and the Tello Obelisk, which portrays the old divinity of the Chavin Temple. According to archaeologists, these carving monuments date back from 1000 BC. Here we will also visit the impressive Inca gallery, also called The Tawantinsuyu Room, which displays, in a very didactic way, the evolution of the Inca culture. Among its main attractions, we will see in a scale model the great Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and other Inca monuments found in Peru.
