TOUR TO THE SANCTUARY OF PACHACAMACPachacamac was one of the largest religious centres on the Peruvian Coast. It is located at the south of Lima, some 30 kms away, virtually at the foot of the Pacific Ocean. According to archaeologist Pachacamac was the most important pilgrimage centre in ancient Peru, and at its glorious days the place received hundreds of people from all over Peru. Pachacamac contains various pyramids, temples and large plazas, where visitors can enjoy a pleasant walking while exploring the site. The sanctuary also offers magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean as well as of the Lurin Valley nearby. In addition, visitors can visit the Museum of Pachacamac located inside the archaeological complex, which displays ancient remains found at the zone. |
